Our team consists of experienced and qualified professionals. All practitioners in their own right, they are subject matter experts in leadership development, coaching and OD consultancy.

John

John Monahan

Managing Director

John was appointed as Managing Director at Insightful Exchange in early 2024, following several years as a pivotal member of the leadership team. He brings a wealth of experience in Leadership and Talent Development and a passion for enabling insight and growth to this role. His management experience and deep understanding of our client’s needs position him well to lead our vision of supporting leaders to reach their full potential.

John is an experienced development professional with a background in Organisational Development, Leadership Development and Human Resources. With experience spanning multiple sectors, John has held senior roles in NHS provider organisations and has made significant contributions at regional and national level as a Deputy Director at the NHS Leadership Academy.

John is a chartered member of the CIPD and holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. He is an accredited Executive Coach, an accredited MBTI practitioner, a Strengthscope Master and holds an Individual Accreditation as a Senior Practitioner in Coaching with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council Global Division.

Paul Beal

Paul Beal

Director

Paul established Insightful Exchange in 2008 and served as Managing Director for over 15 years. In early 2024, Paul made the decision to redirect his focus towards his coaching practice and take a strategic advisory role within the business. He continues to be a Director of Insightful Exchange.

Paul began his career as a HR professional in local government and then joined the NHS, progressing to become an Executive Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development. Paul has extensive experience in various board-level positions focused on driving transformational change across the country.

Paul is dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their full potential both professionally and personally. As a therapeutic coach he works with individuals to develop self-awareness and insight, to enhance their performance at work and develop a fulfilling life.

Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a rich background in leadership development, coaching, counselling, mediation and is a Strengthscope Master Practitioner. Paul is an associate member of European mentoring and coaching council (EMCC).

Ruth Wood

Ruth Wood is a qualified coach, an experienced leader and a member of the International Coaching Federation. With 20 years’ experience of leading and managing in central government, Ruth has a passion for empowering leaders to get the best from themselves and their teams and focuses on coaching executives and leaders in the health, education and social service sectors.

Ruth has an M.A. in Politics, an M.Phil. in Development Economics and a Diploma in Performance Coaching (ICF accredited). She is also accredited in Strengthscope and DISC profiling. 

Ali Jennings

Ali Jennings

Associate

Ali is an experienced executive coach and organisational development practitioner with over 25 years senior leadership experience in the public sector. She works with senior leaders navigating complexity, transition and system change, supporting them to deepen self awareness and lead with clarity and resilience. Much of her work is within health and care systems, alongside work in the voluntary and social enterprise sector, higher education and digital innovation.

Ali holds an MSc in Strategic Human Resource Management, she is an accredited Executive and Team Coach, a Fellow of the CIPD and a member of the EMCC and Association for Coaching.

Fee Collings

Associate

Fee has 25 years experience working in learning and development with organisations, teams and individuals in the public sector. Fee is a highly skilled facilitator and organisational development practitioner, working with individuals and groups at middle and senior management levels.

Fee is a chartered member of the CIPD, a qualified Myers Briggs Type Indicator and DISC practitioner. She has a Diploma in Counselling Skills, Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, and is an Associate member of the Association for Coaching.

Deborah Tennant

Deborah is a people and organisational development professional and executive and wellbeing coach with over 35 years experience across the public, private and third sectors, predominantly in the NHS. She has held senior executive leadership roles, including at regional level, with responsibility for workforce and organisational development within large, complex organisations.

Deborah is an energic, values driven practitioner working with leaders and teams to strengthen culture, leadership capability and organisational health, supporting inclusive, sustainable and high performing environments that enable effective care delivery practice.

Ian Biggs

Ian Biggs

Associate

Ian has over 28 years leadership experience across the NHS and social care, with a background in regulation, policy development and the commissioning of community based services. He focuses on supporting and coaching individuals and teams to build strong relationships, work effectively together and improve outcomes for local communities.

Alongside his professional work, Ian brings lived experience as a carer for a family member living with multiple sclerosis. He is also a trustee of a small charity supporting children and young people with mental health challenges and their families.

Kerry Moody

Kerry is a Leadership and Talent Development specialist and executive coach with over 15 years experience working within the NHS. She supports senior leaders as they navigate complexity, pressure and uncertainty, helping them to lead with clarity, purpose and confidence. Her work focuses on strengthening leadership capability, supporting effective decision making and enhancing key professional relationships.

Kerry has led leadership and coaching development programmes at both organisational and national level, including the delivery of health and wellbeing coaching across the NHS. She also works with aspiring directors, supporting them to build presence, confidence and impact as they progress into more senior roles.

Heidi Johnson Paul

With more than 25 years of experience and success in senior leadership positions, Heidi employs her positive demeanour to support senior leaders and managers, teams and individuals in areas such as induction; team-building; managing challenging people; workplace culture; capacity building; stress management; life balance; imposter syndrome; confidence building; career development; and change management.

Heidi has a Masters Degree in International Leadership, is a qualified coach and delivers workplace coaching skills training.

Joanne

Joanne Wright

Associate

Joanne is an experienced coach, mediator, facilitator and organisational development specialist. She has a a calm, positive approach which helps clients see through complex challenges, enabling them to feel confident with the decisions or direction they need to take. Joanne specialises in conflict and stress using therapeutic coaching techniques.

She is a registered member of the Association for Coaching, the BACP, and is an ACAS trained mediator.
